  Why do the WT call ex-jw's "apostate"? Even if we still love Jehovah,Jesus?

  i was wondering the other day when my neighbor(who is an jw elder) called me an "apostate" for refusing to return to jw's.

  when i left the wt i never stopped loving jehovah and jesus i just could not stomach the wt society anymore.

  there are alot of us ex-jw's who still love jehovah and jesus and still read our bibles.

  True meaning of the word is " One who has abandoned one's religious faith, a political party, ones principles, or a cause." So, I suppose you and most of us here are apostates, but then most of us were already apostates when we entered the watchtower, because we had abondoned our original religion or political views. Also, the Watchtower are not the only ones to use that word to discribe poeple they don't like, do a search on google using IRAN and APOSTATE and see how many entires you get. The Watchtower has changed the true meaning of the word to make it sound like we have left God rather then just changed our minds over which is the true religion, if any. So tell your Elder friend to look the word up in the dictionary and not the Watchtowers.

  I was a big beleive in the WTS, was a pioneer, an MS and a MTS Grad, but then I had a bad experience with the BOE and a commitee, so I went on the net, I found out about the pyramids and 1914. I then brought and read the COC book, it was an eye opener! Best thing I ever done, if only I had known about it sooner I wouldn't have wasted 15 years preaching someone elses fasle theology.

  this is a question for believers of the wts.

  is there anything that the wts could do to make you not believe anymore?

  what would it take for them to shatter your faith?

  I understand your question and the replies you are getting are correct. I am still considered a JW as most on this board once were. I think if all JWs gave themselves a chance to listen ALL would change their minds, but it’s the mind control that the WTS has that stops them. If they applied Provs 18:13 “When anyone is replying to a matter before he hears [it], that is foolishness on his part and a humiliation.”, but they expect others to apply this and not themselves. But we know as we were once ourselves that if anyone comes with “discouraging“ news, or has “independed” thinking or worst still “apostate” thinking, then the JW blocks his ears and mind. But if you can get around this and actually get the oppounity to let a JW hear the false theology of the WTS and all their rotten deeds I’m sure ALL will change. My breaking point was when I read about 1914 and the pyramids, and then I read the COC book.

  I still do, its God and Jesus by way of the bible that promises the kingdom not the watchtower, but when the kingdom comes it won't be because the Watchtower said so. I stand stand in the middle of the desert and say "One day it will rain", when rain finally does come it won't mean I was a Prophet

  In my time as a JW, I've come to learn that as soon as you start to really know a JW personnally, and they come to "trust' you, you find that they are just everyone else, when I lived in sydney, some JW's who were visiting Sydney and who wanted to see the sights asked me to take them to Kings cross, which is the Red Light area. One was a Mother and Daughter couple who asked me to show them Kings Cross, which i happerly did, of course they asked me not to tell others. take a look at kings cross. www.kxol.com.au Its an eye opener

  preaching (door to door), commenting, or giving talks?.

  i am currently fading away, but i occasionaly go to the meetings, just to show my face from time to time, basically to maintain my relationships with friends and family.

  i guess leaving everything, is a jump i am not ready for, just yet.

  JW love in action: JWs fail to inform me when roommate of two years dies

  when i was a witness, i shared a house with an elder/pioneer named herb.

  herb was in his eighties, and he had paid off his two-bedroom house long ago, so he would offer the extra bedroom to local brothers.

  it was a good deal, and herb got some company at the house, so everyone benefited.. for being in his eighties, herb was exceptionally fit.
